My gang and I will be heading down to the Coliseum tomorrow (Saturday 4/22/22) to get our first and only peep of what the Trojans will look like in the coming season . . . or not.

Scrimmage - As advertised, the Trojans will engage in a live-action scrimmage in the Coliseum for two full quarters of football in addition to their normal workout routines. If so, this will be a welcome and significant change from the "showcase" events with limited hitting that USC has shown over the past several years.
Television - While Lincoln Riley & Co. have talked a lot about what's been going on during USC's Spring practice, they have not allowed reporters and/or fans to see much action other than warm-up drills and injury reports, and apparently, these practice viewing limitations will continue going forward. As tomorrow's event will be broadcast (ESPN 12:00 pm, Pacific), many USC fans (and foes) will record the event to gain a better understanding of what the Trojan offense and defense may look like at this point in time.
Team - HC Lincoln Riley & Co. have made a ton of roster changes since they took over, placing significant emphasis on acquiring experienced players via the Transfer Portal and just a handful of high schoolers. Apparently, this approach will continue into the fall, as the team is very shorthanded in many positions of need. So, the team we see tomorrow may be quite different when the season rolls around.
Bottom Line: The weather's great and it should be a very fun day, but as the annual Los Angeles Times Book Fair (held on the USC campus) is on at the same time, parking should be difficult.
