“Pac-12 schools will play eight conference games, PLUS one game a year against Big Ten schools and one against ACC schools---One at home and one away each season, and we’d switch every year. All existing contracts and all traditional rivalries will be respected.” — Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff
Comments: (1) The reduction in conference games from nine to eight each year: The Pac-12 should have done this long ago, and some conference members will still complain if they're not able to play in California recruiting areas every year. (2) Two rotating Alliance OOC games each year: Guess it wouldn't be an "alliance" without them, but that leaves just two slots available for other OOC games including "cupcake" contests that always tend to be played at home. (3) USC and Notre Dame series: The changes would leave the Trojans with just one OOC slot available for scheduling each season, unless the annual meetings with the Irish count within the ACC quota. Could work, but I suspect some ACC and Big Ten schools would complain if they didn't get a trip to the Coliseum now and then.
