Uh, oh . . . The Las Vegas line has jumped up to Ducks -18 (from -15.5) and appears to be headed higher (with some casinos already listing it as Ducks -18.5), so RoboDUCK has to get his bet down right now!
$500 on Oregon vs. California +18: Cal's starting quarterback, Chase Garbers is questionable for the game, which makes a good bet on the Ducks even better. True, the Golden Bears have a good defense, which makes 18 points a mountain for the Ducks to climb, but Oregon's QB Justin Herbert & Co. appear up to the task.

This week looks much easier to pick than last so here we go. $1500 in play.
$100 Temple -11.5 vs East Carolina Although Temple faltered at Buffalo, they did beat Maryland & Virginia Tech. This may be the best team in the AAC, sorry, UCF. Losing here would shoot their season. QB Anthony Russo needs to cut down on the picks.
$100 Louisville -6 vs Boston College The Cards appear to be improving although back up QB Malik Cunningham might find the BC defense to be a challenge. Kansas did ring up 48 on it. The deep throw will most likely not be there. The BC offense is well balanced & the Cardinal secondary is suspect. 6 points is as far as I will stretch on this one.
$200 USF -11 vs UConn UConn is dreadful & Charley Strong's Bulls should show their disappointed fans that they can take care of the bottom feeders. This could be a shut out.
$500 Maryland -13.5 vs Rutgers Rutgers doesn't get a full Big 10 share until 2027 if they last that long. The head coach is fired already & the season once again is crashing down on the Scarlet Knights. The Terps were ranked in week two which was ridiculous but they can put a real hurting on Rutgers.
$500 Wisconsin -36.5 vs Kent State Kent State has one of the worst defenses in football, allowing 265 YPG & 5.3 per carry. Badger QB Jonathan Taylor is salivating.
$100 California +18 vs Oregon The Bears' already mediocre offense is missing QB Chase Garbers this week & that will really hurt. They have not allowed a passing TD in 4 of their 5 games or more than 28 points this season however & should keep it close enough.
Well, so much for my wagers on Friday night games:
My Winner: $250 on San Jose State -6.5 (San Jose State 32, New Mexico 21). I watched the first half of the game and came away impressed with the quarterback play of fifth year senior Spartan quarterback Josh Love and his receiving corps. While San Jose State (3-2) doesn't have enough of a supporting cast for the Spartans to play a huge role in the Mountain West Conference this season, they are clearly better that last year's (1-11, 1-7) team, and I'm thinking that 31-24, road victory over Arkansas wasn't a fluke.
My Loser:$250 on UCF vs. Cincinnati +4 (Cincinnati 27, UCF 24). UCF's freshman quarterback Dillon Gabriel came into the game leading the AAC in passing efficiency, but completed just 25 of 46 (54%) passes, threw three telling interceptions, and botched a handoff in the game, as the 18th ranked Golden Knights were upset by a Cincinnati defensive scheme that took advantage by daring UCF to throw deep. Great win for the Bearcats, and I'm thinking the Golden Knights will be seeing more of that defense in the future.
Comment: No money lost, so no complaints . . .On to Saturday's games!
