Urban Meyer, Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart will soon be working as a team on the coming season's Fox Television college football broadcasts.
Comment: I could be wrong, but none of these guys seem experienced and/or glib enough to carry a national television show. So, unless all three of them take a cram course in broadcast smarts this summer, or the network has designed a special format or interlocuter to assist them this fall, I think watching the three talk to each other could be painful to viewers over time. It's true, Matt Leinart did improve his hesitant television persona last season, but his contributions usually involved answering questions posed by others or following up on observations made by someone else. And, while Bush and Meyer are good when they are being interviewed, I'm not sure they've got the ability to carry the lead load.
Footnote: One of the group's first broadcasts could be USC's season opener at the Coliseum against visiting Fresno State. If so, folks are wondering how the NCAA's lifetime sanction requiring USC to disassociate itself from all things "Reggie Bush" (the only NCAA sanction of its kind ever imposed, and probably not legal) will be handled.
